SLoCaT consists of a multi-stakeholder partnership of over 90 organizations, including Walk21.
The Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) promotes the integration of sustainable transport in global policies on sustainable development and climate change and leveraging action in support of the implementation of the global policies.
Bronwen Thornton, the CEO of Walk21, was elected Chair of the Board for the SLOCAT Partnership in 2019. Walk21 contributes to the annual Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report to make sure walking is recognised and valued. We also ensure walking issues are featured in Transport Day events at the annual Global Process on Climate Change and other high level forums.
The Transport and Climate Change 2018 Global Status Report (TCC-GSR) describes trends in transport emissions and illustrates policies as well as policy targets across all transport sub-sectors. It sets a baseline that helps to capture the progress of transport in regard to climate action. The TCC-GSR is a key resource for policy-makers to support raising ambition on climate action (mitigation and adaptation) in sustainable transport.
